AC401 Acrylics Painting Level 1

About this event

Instructor: Cara Bain

Whether you're picking up a paintbrush for the first time or refreshing your basic skills, this course will help you build confidence with acrylic painting in a relaxed, supportive environment. Through step-by-step instruction, you'll learn essential techniques while creating vibrant, realistic paintings.

Using simple subjects, you'll explore colour mixing, brushwork, values, texture, and layering, while becoming familiar with the unique qualities of acrylic paint. You'll also develop your ability to observe shapes, light, and colour. Demonstrations and individual guidance allow everyone to progress at their own pace.

By the end of the course, you'll have a solid foundation and the confidence to create beautiful acrylic painting.

Bio: Cara Bain has 20 years of experience in fine arts and her work has been exhibited throughout the Vancouver area. She is best known for her expressive portraits and British Columbia landscapes. Cara holds a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Communication and has taught painting since 2016. She is passionate about helping students build strong technical skills while developing their own creative voice.

This course is open to non-members.

Member registration opens on Tuesday, August 25 at 10 am.
Non-member registration opens on Tuesday, September 1 at 10 am.

Cancellation Policy:

Please read the Brock House Society refund policy prior to registering for activities (courses, events, tours) that have a fee.

- There is a $15 processing fee for ALL cancellations.
- To ensure that classes and events can go ahead as planned, members must cancel a class or event no later than 3 days prior to the start/event date to be eligible for refunds. No refunds are given after this deadline.
- To be eligible for a refund of tours, cancellation requests must be received 7 days prior to the tour. No refunds are given after this deadline.
- If Brock House needs to cancel a course/event/tour due to low attendance, a full refund will be provided.
